Reading youngster Kelvin Abrefa 'can't wait for next season' after earning his first league start in Saturday's 2-2 draw with Barnsley.
The 20-year-old has spent two years in and around the first team, making 13 league appearances, but had to wait until last weekend to earn his first start up at Oakwell.
Featuring for the whole game in place of injured club captain Andy Yiadom, it is unclear whether the skipper will return in time for Saturday's trip to Burton Albion or if Abrefa could make successive starts.
"I’m taking any minutes I can get," the full-back said in South Yorkshire. "At my age they won’t come very often, so I just have to be ready when the time comes and be ready."
With one of the youngest squads in the division, the likes of Abrefa, Kelvin Ehibhatiomhan and Michael Craig have all graduated from the Academy into the first-team over the last 18 months.
"Us all coming together has made everyone feel comfortable and you’re starting to see it now, we are gelling. The more we get together, the better we look. It’s good that we all came up together.
"It is all of our first first-team action- a completely new team. As you can see, at the start we weren’t together, but it looks like we’re together now. We’re a team, and I can’t wait for next season."
Two matches remain this season, with Blackpool visiting Berkshire on the final day in under a fortnight.
